Morning Meeting - Greeting, Sharing, Activity, Morning Message, Overview of the day, Calendar and Weather - Responsive Classroom
Kid Writing - Eileen Feldgus and Isabell Cardonick - Each day the students draw a picture in his or her journal. An adult sits with each child and helps him or her write a story about their illustration. The students write all of the sounds they hear in a word (called Kid Writing). When the student is finished writing the adult will show the student the correct "adult" spelling. This allows for individual mini-lessons based on the needs to the student.
Children's Choice or Outside Play - This time allows the students to work out some energy, build upon gross motor skills, and master social skills.

Language Art Lesson - Debbie Miller Our Language Arts lesson may consist of a shared shading or an interactive read aloud of a story to enhance comprehension and fluency of both fiction and nonfiction text.

Math Work Stations - The students work in pairs to practice and master skills taught in whole group. At this time I can meet with small groups of students to differentiate instruction based on their needs.
Whole Group Math Lesson - During whole group instruction new concepts are introduced and practiced. This is a time when I can make anecdotal records and assess a child's understand of a concept. This allows me to plan for both small and whole group lessons.
Rest Time - This is a quiet time for the students to relax their bodies and minds and prepare for the remainder of the day!
Shared Reading - This is a time for the students to practice concepts of print and beginning reading skills. During this time basic phonics skills are also taught. The students love to "butter up" the "popcorn" or high frequency words.
